Making cheddar for over 45years

Idyllically located in the rolling Dorset Downs, overlooking the World Heritage Jurassic Coast, we have been dairy farming and making Cheddar for over 45 years and are one of the few remaining traditional farmhouse cheddar makers. Barbers acquired Ford Farm in 2010, joining together to make fantastic cheese without costing the earth.

We specialise in Cave aged multi-species milk, blended cheeses and waxes.

To create the finest cheese we use only the richest, creamiest West Country milk, within the 32 mile radius we share with Barber’s. We have a singular goat farmer who provides us with high quality goat milk for our Cave Aged Goats cheese.

We are leaders in cheesemaking innovation, developing our own blended cheese our most popular being ‘Truffler’ and ‘Wensleydale and Cranberry’. We are well known for our wax-coated cheddar truckles, presenting them in different shapes and coloured waxes. Name a Christmas themed shape and we’ve probably done it!
